So....no posts in what? Two-and-a-half months? That's pretty bad, even for me. Life is busy and my thoughts center almost exclusively around college these days. However I do have an amusing little story to share today to prove that I am still alive and well.
Last night I babysat my favorite kiddos in the world. Three kids, and three cats...it really don't get much more entertaining than that! Well I was running about washing dishes and feeding kitties when I walked into the living room to find the kids watching that Disney movie, "Holes." It was near the end at the part where the girl who is supposed to be Sigorney Weaver's young self was complaining to her grandfather about digging holes. I got all excited and proudly announced to the boys, "I met that little girl! Her name's Hailey Trickett and she is a friend of my best friend. I actually hung out with her at a sleepover back in my old home town."
Gabriel, too intriged by the movie to show much interest in my brief brush with fame, remained glued to the television set. However Seth's eyes widened like saucers and his little mouth dropped open as he shockingly exclaimed, "Oh my gosh, YOU SLEPT WITH A MOVIE STAR!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I don't think I've ever had to bite my tongue so hard to keep from laughing in my life! Quietly, I replied, "Well, yes" before retreating back to the kitchen where I buried my face in a dish towel.
