Crying Out for a Savior

Hmmm, what to write. So much on my mind, and yet I'm not really sure what to say.
I saw Superman Returns tonight with my dad. It was wonderful!!!! My favorite scene was the one where Superman takes Lois on a flight over the city. I looked at it through a Christian perspective...as if it was a personal conversation from the heart of a human to the love of a Savior. I want to try to retell the scene, although I will most certainly butcher some of the lines. Here goes:

Lois *trying to understand why Superman left her*: The world doesn't need a Savior and neither do I.
Superman looks at her with understanding and compassion and convinces her to let him take her on a flight. Lois steps into his arms and they float out over the city.
Lois: I forgot how warm you are.
They fly far out into the clouds and stop there.
Superman: What do you hear?
Lois: Nothing.
Superman: I hear everything. *pauses and looks deep into her eyes* I hear the world crying out for a Savior.

The meaning~ as humans, we are so incredibly limited in our understanding. The look on Lois's face was one of such childish innocence. We cry out to our Savior like little children. "Why, God??? Why did You leave me??? If You were here with me none of this would have happened? If You don't care, then I don't need You anymore and neither does anyone else." But what we fail to realize is that He is there every step of the way. He waits to take each one of his children into his big, strong arms and fly us up above all the pain and sadness, making our burdens His own. He longs to look deeply into our eyes and tell us just how much He loves us and wants to be our only love and Lord every day of our lives. Why do we reject that? Why do we continue to turn down the One Who can hold us tighter and care for us more dearly than anything we have ever or will ever know in this world? I'm pretty upset right now. I think I'm going to go have a good cry...
To everyone who has the chance, go see this movie. It really touched me in a way I didn't think it would.

Make My Life a Prayer

One of my most favorite songs. The words are incredible. They speak straight to my heart. Enjoy...

Make My Life a Prayer
~*~*~*~
Make my life a prayer to You
I want to do what You want my to
No empty words and no white lies
No token prayers, no compromise
~*~*~
I want to shine the light You gave
Through Your Son You sent to save us
From ourselves and our despair
It comforts me to know You're really there
*~*~*
And I want to thank You now
For being patient with me
Oh, it's so hard to see
When my eyes are on me
~*~*~
I guess I'll have to trust
And just believe what You say
Oh, You're coming again
Coming to take me away
*~*~*
I want to die and let You give
Your life to me so I might live
And share the hope You gave to me
The love that set me free
~*~*~
I want to tell the world out there
You're not some fable or fairy tale
That I've made up inside my head
You're God, the Son, You've risen from the dead
*~*~*
Oh, I want to thank You now
For being patient with me
Oh, it's so hard to see
When my eyes are on me
~*~*~
I guess I'll have to trust
And just believe what you say
Oh, You're coming again
Coming to take me away
*~*~*
I wanna die and let You give
Your life to me so I might live
And share the hope You gave to me
I want to share the love that set me free.

To my Girls...

Oh my, I just have to say something important right now. Cat and Smelley rock my world because they are just the most wonderful friends a girl could want and they make life so much more sweeter. I love you my dears who are also the only ones that read this pathetic excuse for a blog. Sorry that I haven't been writing; I have been busy. Well that's it...God bless and goodnight...

To Laugh Or Not To Laugh

Ok, here's a question that has been bothering me all weekend. Am I funny? Well I would have to say no. To have an even relatively good sense of humor one must be able to think quick and pay attention. I do neither almost all the time. Someone asks me a question and I have no clue what they are talking about because I wasn't listening to the first five minutes of the conversation even though I may or may not have been one of the members speaking myself. So here's another question that puzzles me horribly. Why do others find me funny? I might say something with utter seriousness and honesty and all my friends start to crack up. Later on I might think it over, and find that maybe it was a tiny bit amusing but still no great cause for laughter. I feel like such a child. That's exactly how kids feel when older people don't take them seriously or misinterpret what they were trying to say in all innocence and simplicity. If only the world didn't always feel like it had to complicate matters so. That's really what it comes down to, I suppose. We would all be better people for it. Course then we would also all be blonde. Hmmm, never mind; maybe that's not such a good thing after all...

Walk By Faith

I've been thinking of this Jeremy Camp song all morning. Every once in a while I truly believe that God gives you a song to meditate on to get you through the day. This one is mine today.
Walk By Faith
*~*~*~*
Would I believe you when you would say
Your hand will guide my every way
Will I receive the words You say
Every moment of every day
*~*~*
Well I will walk by faith
Even when I cannot see
Well because this broken road
Prepares Your will for me
~*~*~
Help me to win my endless fears
You've been so faithful for all my years
With the one breath You make me
Your grace covers all I do
*~*~*
yeah, yeah , yeah, yeah, ya
~*~*~
Well I'm broken- but I still see Your face
Well You've spoken- pouring Your words of grace
*~*~*
Well hallelujah, hallelu (I will walk by faith)
Well hallelujah, hallelu (I will walk by faith)
~*~*~
I will walk, I will walk, I will walk by faith
I will, I will, I will walk by faith
*~*~*

A Wise Saying...

You know what I decided? The blonde mind is really just the combination of a small amount of attention deficit disorder and a vast arena of empty space...

Just One in a Million

Grrr....I am so sleepy. Stayed up late last night after attending yet another high school graduation. So many people moving on and doing lovely things with their lives. It's exciting to watch. The reception last night was a bit of a pain though. Far too much noise and movement in too small of a space. I don't mind being somewhat surrounded by people, as long as they keep to a distance of approximately 15 to 20 feet away and keep their voices down to a whisper. But when completely consumed by an obnoxiously noisy crowd on every side with no possible hope for escape and driven by the unexplainable desire to congratulate every senior before leaving, I become strange. Start to sweat, nervously play with my hands, lose all focus, stop breathing...it's rather an interesting phenomenon. I believe it's some sort of a combination of mild claustrophobia, noise sensitivity, strong dislike of physical contact, and mild ADD which adds to my already confused nature. Makes for one weird kitty. Well, I must fly. Have another grad to attend this morning. On second thought...maybe I'll just lock myself up in a small dark room and spend the rest of the week contemplating the meaninglessness of social life.

Surprise...TEARS!!

Well I expected my mom to cry at my graduation. I expected my sister to cry. I expected at least one of my friends to cry. I even considered the fact that my dad might get a bit emotional, but there was one person that I never dreamed would fall apart. Myself. I seriously cried more than all the rest of them combined. It was so pathetic. It started when I was watching the slide show that they put together of the seniors. The picture of my grandma and I came up and I choked. Then when I got on stage and my dad started to speak, I just couldn't take it anymore. It was as if all the emotions of this past year finally caught up with me and I had to let them out. I think everyone was a little bit shocked, including myself. It's not everyday that I cry, let alone cry in front of a room full of people, half of which I have never met before in my life. But it almost felt good at the same time. This sort of thing would embarrass me horribly under normal circumstances, but for some reason it seemed to fit just fine for my grad. I cannot believe that I'm done now, but the blessings I received from my family and friends were so overwhelming. I have a lot to think about and look forward to. :-)

God, I praise Your name for all the blessings You have poured out on my in this life, and for all that I have to look forward to.
